Gloves
- Dry your gloves thoroughly from inside and outside with some dry towel or cloth immediately after each use.
- Spray glove deodorants (or other disinfectants about once a week- if gloves are used more than once per week).
- Once you’ve reached your home hang your gloves somewhere with good air ventilation.
- Stuff the gloves with used newspaper to soak up any moisture after air drying.
- Do not wash your gloves in washing machine nor dry in the dryer.
- Avoid soaking your gloves in water, if hand washing - let gloves air dry for a few days.
Rashguards
- Turn rashguard inside out before washing.
- Wash cold or lukewarm, never hot.
- Preferably use a delicate net in order to stop the threads and the polyester from getting torn up in the washing machine.
- Use organic detergent if possible.
- Do not iron, use bleach, dryer sheets, or fabric softener (rewash if you use a dryer sheet or fabric softener)
- Hang dry away from direct sunlight or heat.
- Don't wring excess water
Shorts
- Turn shorts inside out before washing.
- Wash cold or lukewarm, never hot.
- Use organic detergent if possible.
- Preferably use a delicate net
- Do not iron, use bleach, dryer sheets, or fabric softener (rewash if you use a dryer sheet or fabric softener)
- Hang dry away from direct sunlight or heat.
BJJ, Judo, Karate Gi
- Wash your gi after every use
- Wash cold in washer, never hot.
- Washing in hot water will cause some minimal shrinkage
- Do not use bleach, dryer sheets, or fabric softener (rewash if you use a dryer sheet or fabric softener)
- Use organic detergent if possible.
- Use an organic oxidizer to remove stains, Oxi-clean works.
- Wash alone, if not possible, at least wash with like colors.
- Wash your gi inside out once in a while.
- Hang dry away from direct sunlight or heat, do not tumble dry.
Shin Guards
- Wipe your shin guards with an antibacterial wipe immediately after each use, a damp cloth wipe will work if wipe not available.
- Wipe down entire surface, inside and out.
- Spray glove deodorants (or other disinfectants about once a week) if shin guards are used more than once per week.
- Avoid soaking your shin guards in water, if hand washing - let shin guards air dry for a few days.
- Hang your shin guards to air-dry somewhere with good air ventilation, away from direct sunlight.
- Do not wash your shin guards in washing machine nor dry in dryer.
Headgear
- Wipe your head gear with an antibacterial wipe immediately after each use, a damp cloth wipe will work if wipe not available.
- Wipe down the entire surface, inside and out, including the ear guards, chin cup and all of the straps.
- Spray glove deodorants (or other disinfectants about once a week) if head gear is used several times a week.
- Avoid soaking your shin guards in water, if hand washing - let shin guards air dry for a few days.
- Hang your shin guards to air-dry somewhere with good air ventilation, away from direct sunlight.
- Do not wash your shin guards in washing machine nor dry in dryer.
Punching Bags
- After each use, the bag should be wiped down with a disinfectant wipe.
- At least once a week, the leather should be cleaned with a traditional leather cleanser to prevent the leather from cracking.
c
